Who Are We?
Ella's Buttons began in 2015, when I left my career as a primary school teacher and felt called to set up a community based business, connecting people and providing craft workshops as a fun and therapeutic activity.
The business is named after Ross's Gran, Ella. After she died we were given a tin of her buttons by Ross's mum to use in crafting; Ross had many happy memories of playing with them when he was a little boy and I made him a card with them and labelled it, 'Made with love with Ella's buttons'. The name was birthed! Over the years, the business has grown and developed. For two years, we ran a local toddler group as well as monthly craft evenings for ladies and daytime sessions for all ages. I am also experienced at running workshops for children at an after school club and for the elderly in care homes and can adapt sessions to suit those with special needs. I have led workshops for MIND as well as at Nottingham Hospice. Alongside the craft workshops, as an experienced primary school teacher, I am able to offer tutoring in all primary aged subjects as well as preparation sessions for the 11 plus tests. I create bouquets and framed pictures using my handmade button flowers which are a beautiful gift for a variety of occasions. I am married to Ross and have two children, Ewan and Livvy. I was a primary teacher for 15 years with experience in leadership within several schools. We attend Riverside Church in Southwell.
